Letter To Dyers
My Promises To Dyers
I want your yarn.
Your yarn is beautiful and I want to help our fellow fiber artists experience it. Your yarn carries its own personal message that stems from you, your beliefs, your experience, and your desires.
It would be my honor and privilege to carry your yarn and your message across the US in my traveling yarn shop.
Gaye Glasspie calls non -BIPOC individuals to Stand In The Gap. I may not be in your typical change-maker position but I will stand in The Gap in a meaningful way by amplifying you and your yarn, and by creating another space to share it with the world.
Here’s my promise to you:
Your wholesale prices will be honored as they are, no haggling or asking you to devalue your work.
Your message will be honestly and sincerely represented, and I will do all I can to educate myself in order to defend it.
I will continue to dismantle the racist biases I find in myself and I will continue to confront racism and prejudice where I find them.
I believe our knitting community, and spaces like the one I am building, can bring real, lasting change. I look forward to being part of that change by partnering with you.
I would love to take to you out on a virtual coffee date to get to know you and your art some more, plus tell you more about The Roving Yarn Shop and my plans. If you are open to an online meeting, email me and we will set a date! I look forward to speaking with you!
